Functions and Venue Hire

The Tauranga Bowling Club is available for hire on a one-off or regular basis. Situated in the beautiful Tauranga Domain with outstanding views and just a stone’s throw from the CBD.

We can cater for a range of events and can provide as much or as little assistance as you require. A venue hire fee applies for each booking and a full estimate of all costs will be provided at the time of enquiry.

Event & Venue Hire Options:

Corporate/Group Hire with Bowls:
Prices per person will be quoted based on enquiry and numbers of those attending. A discount for large numbers can be available at discretion of the Tauranga Bowling Club, but no reduction if booked numbers are not present on the day.

Venue Hire (No Bowls events):
We offer half or full day venue hire and fee can include usage of the lounge, bar and kitchen facilities. For special events, you are welcome to install decorations and dress tables with prior arrangement with our Corporate Functions Coordinator. A special licence will be required for events that do not include bowls. See below.

What’s the cost?
Quotes will be generated upon enquiry. Please submit a request using the form located at the bottom of this page.

BBQ Hire:
We offer one BBQ, if you wish to cook/prepare your own food. You must provide own food and disposable plates plus cutlery etc. unless using caterers. Barbeque must be cleaned after use.

Catering:
If catering is required, opportunity must be given to the clubs recommended supplier to quote for catering, unless the hirer brings prepared food (please refer to ‘Kitchen Hire’ below).

Liquor Licence:
Non-Bowling functions/events must have a Special Liquor Licence. The Club applies on behalf of the hirer and must be paid to the club prior to the application being made. Please note: Applications my take up to 20 days to be processed through the Tauranga City Council. Application fees apply.

Kitchen Hire:
Our kitchen facilities can be made available for hire. The kitchen must be left as it is found; i.e clean, tidy and all benches wiped.

Bar Staff:
Bar staff are generally included in the hire charges, however, the club reserves the right to make and additional charge if the hire period extends beyond 8pm. It is also appreciated if the bar staff are provided with a meal for functions extending beyond 8pm.

Smoking:
The Club has a ‘No Smoking Policy’ in place within the environs of the Clubhouse and on the Greens.

Footwear:
Flat-soled footwear (sneakers/trainers) must be worn on the greens at ALL times. Bare or stocking feet is permissible

Payment:
Payment is expected at the conclusion of each function/event by Cash or Eftpos; unless prior arrangement has been made for an invoice to be sent.

The Greens are strictly out of bounds if Lawn Bowls are not being played!
